Coffin Treat Boxes

Every year I create some kind of treat box or make goodie bags for my niece and nephew for Halloween.  Although I don't get to spend it with them, I've always made the effort to send them something.  The sad part is that they are almost getting to that age in which they no longer want to dress up for Halloween, they grow up so quickly.  So this is what I made for each of them along with the test tubes and other goodies.

It's difficult to think of coffins as cute, I know, but let's face it, aren't these cute?  I used a Martha Stewart template found here.   The stamps are from the Hauntingly Delightful set by There She Goes. I know, I know, I couldn't help myself, but this set has so much to offer.  The designer paper is from a stash of Halloween paper that I have had that keeps growing every year, for some reason I keep thinking I need more, I really don't!  I've also used the Martha Stewart deep edger spider web punch, cut it in half, then glued it to the sides of each of the lids.  Each of the images were stamped onto Copic X-press it blending card paper using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black.  I colored the images using Copic markers, added some shading around the images, cut them using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Circles Large and layered them onto black cardstock that I cut out using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Large Pinking Circles.  I free handed the tags onto which I stamped the sentiments, that are also from the same stamp set.  I purple/black ribbon is from the Celebrate it Halloween collection from Michaels, the orange/black is from The Ribbon Boutique from Hobby Lobby.

With Halloween just around the corner, I think I am all done with Halloween cards.  I'm ready to move onto Winter/Christmas cards.  Even though it's difficult to get into that mode living here in Arizona, where our winter weather is like Spring weather.  Oh well!!

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. You are truly on a roll, my friend! Please keep it going! No, coffins are not cute! However, the picture of the open one helps me think of these as "chocolate boxes" instead! lol So I find them amazingly cute and I have a sudden craving for coffee and a treat! Thank you very much! :o)
