<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Creating this card was a bit challenging for me, as you know from my past posts, I don't do clean and simple cards. I find myself feeling like I'm missing so much because I finish so quickly, and then I start to look at it more and more and think it's missing so much. But it's not, it's perfectly okay, yet because there are no layers and so few embellishments, I feel as if it's so plain. So, yes, it took a lot from me not to add a layer or two of pattern paper, LOL! I also really wanted to start making some use of my background stamps, I don't ever use them.....so this was a good start.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On to this card......For the base, I used Papertrey Ink card stock in Vintage Cream. The card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (top fold). The doggie die cut is from an adorable Stamp and Die set from <a href="http://shop.my-creative-time.com/Loyal-Friends-Stamp-Set-MCT-164.htm" target="_blank">My Creative Time called Loyal Friends</a>. Me being a dog lover, I had to have this! I cut one of the dogs using Papertrey Ink card stock in Fine Linen and the other using True Black, (I have to add a small note: I did not want both of the dog tails to be pointing the same direction, so for the black dog, I cut the tail and reversed, so that it is pointing in the other direction, cute ha?), the collar for the black dog was cut using Papertrey Ink paper in Hawaiin Shores and the other collar was in Pure Poppy. For the silver hearts, I used the specialty paper that I purchased from my local Michael's. Using the Hero Arts Ink Pad in Wet Cement I stamped the <a href="http://www.joann.com/hero-arts-mounted-stamp-envelope-pattern/11435872.html" target="_blank">Hero Arts Background stamp Envelope Pattern</a> onto the Vintage Cream card base, I then began to assemble my pieces. I stamped the sentiment from a stamp set called Puppy Pals by My Cute Stamps (I'm sorry, but this company is no longer in business, so I am unable to provide a link for this one), however, it was the perfect sentiment for this card. I cut the Fishtail banner using the smallest die from <a href="http://mftstamps.com/die-namics-fishtail-flags-stax" target="_blank">My Favorite Things Die-namics Fishtail Flags</a>.</div>

I really dislike having such long gaps in between posts, and I hope that I can improve that. It feels so good to be able to finally post on my blog, I can't believe it's been over a year since my last post. <br />
<br />
I'm trying to figure out a schedule for me to be able to post at least twice a week on my blog and maybe the same for my <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC909B5S1rOWyQ8BZtxI3gPQ" target="_blank">YouTube Channel</a>. Discipline! That is what I need....LOL! Okay, well see how this pans out.....<br />

Again, thank you so much for your continued support!CraftySilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10918863944558519512noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5375978506907494524.post-81255627130600536182013-02-03T16:56:00.002-07:002013-02-03T16:56:29.484-07:00Sending Bunches of Love<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">If dimension is what I was going for on this card, I definitely accomplished that! LOL! I started off with stamping the bunny onto a piece of grey paper from the Love Note 6" x 6" paper pad by Fancy Pants, then fussy cutting him out. I used copic marker C0 to somewhat give it a little bit of a shading in the areas I thought it needed it. I went on to stamp only the section with the hearts three more times onto a piece of pink paper from the Authentic 6" x 6" paper pad collection - Delight. Using copic marker R81 I added a little bit of shading to the hearts (again, where I thought it needed it, although I knew I was going to be adding glitter to them, I still wanted to do that), then using Zig 2-way glue pen (the one with the chisel tip), I applied glue to all of the hearts and sprinkled my <i>FAVORITE</i> colored glue, did I say <i>FAVORITE</i> already?...yes, my <i>favorite</i> glitter from <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/index.html" target="_blank">The Art Institute Glitter</a>, it's called Art Glitter in Transparent Ultra Fine 6gr. The color I used was<a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/rutpink.htm" target="_blank"> Miss Muffet #144</a>.</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I cut out one batch of hearts, then I cut out the second one, however, this time, only cutting out the 3 larger of the hearts, then I cut out only the large heart in the middle. Using Stampin' Up dimensionals along with Glossy Accents (as my favorite glue), I added a little bit of glossy accents to the dimensional, since I knew just the adhesive on the dimensional was not going to be enough, since the glitter was going to make it difficult adhere, using glossy accents definitely helped. I did the same thing for the rest of the random hearts I used all over the card.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Using the <a href="http://shop.my-creative-time.com/Stitched-Scallop-Heart-Die-Set-MCT-D22.htm" target="_blank">My Creative Time - Stitched Scallop Heart Die Set</a>, I cut out the outside heart and the inside heart. I adhered the larger of the hearts with the scallops using Stampin' Up dimensionals and glued the middle heart to the card. I stamped the sentiment onto Papertrey Ink - white card stock and cut it out using <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/die-namics-fishtail-flags-stax?filter_name=fishtail%20flags" target="_blank">My Favorite Things - Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die</a>, I ran it once thru my Cuttlebug and then turned the fish tail end around and cut out the other side, so both sides have the fishtail ends.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's my YouTube video that shows how I put the entire card together:</span><br />

Here's a stamp set that I've was really anxious to use this year.....I've had it since last February, just never got the opportunity to use it, before I knew it, Valentine's Day was done and over with. The stamp se is called <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Stampendous-SSC1084-Clear-Stamp-Iguana/dp/B0049U4D1O" target="_blank">"Iguana Love" by Stampendous</a> <i>(I placed a link to Amazon.com, since I was unable to locate it on the Stampendous website)</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I stamped my image onto X-press it blending card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it using Copics then fuzzy cut it. I stamped the sentiment onto a heart that I cut using a die cut from <a href="http://www.lilinkerdesigns.com/product/of-the-heart-dies" target="_blank">Lil' Inkers Designs</a>. I used a lot of hearts on this card, then again, it's meant to be a Valentine's Day Card!</div>

The adorable image you see of all those puppies, is from Whipper Snapper Designs. I have been wanting to use this stamp for some time now, and this was the perfect opportunity! I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo black ink onto X-press it blending card paper, then colored it using Copics. I cut around my image and placed it onto the card using dimensionals. The designer paper I used is from Basic Grey Shine On Collection (both 6"x 6" and 12" x 12") paper pads. I used several die cuts from several different companies. The sun was cut using a die cut from <a href="http://www.lilinkerdesigns.com/product/sunshine-die-large" target="_blank">Lil' Inkers Designs</a>, the picket fence is a die from <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/die-namics-picket-fence?filter_name=picket%20fence" target="_blank">My Favorite Things</a>, the grass die is from <a href="http://www.tayloredexpressions.com/item.php?item_id=3822" target="_blank">Taylored Expressions</a> and last but not least, the small hills are cut using a <a href="https://www.papertreyink.com/pti-dies/papertrey-ink-in-the-meadow-die-collection-set-of-2/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink die - In the Meadow</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The larger of the speech bubbles were cut out of the 12" x 12" Basic Grey Shine On paper pad, and the small red square speech bubble was cut from the 6" x 6" Basic Grey paper pad. The sentiments I used came from several stamp sets. I added dimensionals to a few of the speech bubbles, so that they would stand out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the inside of the card, I used the Sizzix Pop 'n Cuts Base and Insert (card, Horizontal A2 w/circle label 3D) (Pop-up). The posts were using the Sizzix Sizzlets Flagpole w/Lantern & sign die (decorative strip), and for the banners I used <a href="https://www.papertreyink.com/pti-dies/papertrey-ink-banner-builder-die-collection-set-of-7/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink - Banner builder die collection</a>. The stamped image I used is from Whimsy Stamps - Cupcake Bliss, which I also stamped on X-press it blending card using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, then colored with Copics. I added some of my favorite colored glitter, Art Glitter in Aquamarine from the Art Institute Glitter. The image was attached to the pop-up using an action wobble, which I have to admit, is my first time using one of these, and I love the effect! The sentiment inside is from a Hero Art Stamp set called Card Messages that was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black and matted using a piece Pure Poppy cardstock from Papertrey Ink that I die cut using Spellbinder Nestabilities - Long scalloped rectangles large.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Well, here we are at the second week of December, and it doesn't seem to feel like Christmas season yet, at least not for us here in Arizona. Our weather is still in the 70's as of today, however, come this week, we are finally going to hit 60's. I think this explains why it is so difficult to get into Christmas card making when it's sunny and hot outside....I'm trying!<br />
<br />
For today's card, I used this really cute stamp I purchased at my local scrapbooking store, it's by Whipper Snapper Designs - Maddie. I stamped it on X-press it paper by Copic using Memento Ink-Tuxedo Black, then colored it using Copics. I used the same coloring scheme as on the front of the stamp, since initially the cute image along with the colors was why I purchased the stamp. I used Bazzill paper for my base (which I rarely use, since to me, it feels very flimsy, I normally use Papertrey ink for my card base), since I didn't have this color of card stock from Papertrey Ink. The pattern paper I used is from a 6" x 6" My Minds Eye Merry Paper pad I purchased from Michaels. <br />
<br />
I used Let it snowflake die-namics from My Favorite Things and layered one on top of the other using a dimensional, then added a pink embellishment that I purchased from Hobby Lobby (Crystal Stickers 5mm LT. Pink). The sentiment I used is from SP and Company Bold Holiday Sentiments, which by the way, I have to mention how much I love these stamps, not only because they are high quality photopolymer stamps, but also because of the variety of sentiments that you get in one set, not to mention the two different fonts used. <br />
<br />
This was a quick card to assemble, I think the thing that took me the longest was the coloring, which by the way I enjoy very much!<br />

I thought I'd try out a different card size then the usual, or more like, than what I am comfortable doing, which is either an A2 size or a 5" x 5". This card measures 7 1/4" x 6 1/2. I really wanted to use the MFT Die-namics Peek-a-boo trio, so in order to do that, the card size had to be tweaked just a bit.....</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
For today's card, I am using a stamp image from My Favorite Things called <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=merry+kissmas&product_id=593" target="_blank">"Merry Kissmas"</a>. I colored the image using copic markers, then added Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds glitter by applying Zig 2- way glue to the desired areas where I wanted glitter. I also added shading to the background of my image using BG000.<br />
<br />
I matted my image using Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey circles with Bazzil paper in Rose. The pattern paper I used was from My Minds Eye - Merry 6" x 6" paper pad. I also did some stitching....<br />
The sentiment came from the same MFT stamp set, I stamped it on a Teeny Tag using Bazzil paper in Rose, that I cut out using the tag die from My Creative Time set called <a href="http://shop.my-creative-time.com/Teeny-Tag-Greetings-Stamp-Set-MCT-058.htm" target="_blank">Teeny Tag Greetings with Teeny Tag Dies</a>. Then wrapped up a bow using a roll of organza ribbon by The Ribbon Boutique that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.<br />
<br />
Now to something non-crafty related.......<br />
<br />
Okay, now I'm not sure if you all know how much I love owls.....yesterday, I got a visit from a real live owl. My husband woke me up early in the morning and said, "you have to come see this, there's an owl outside"....now I was half asleep, I thought he was messing with me, because he knows how much I love em', but he wasn't....I peeked out of our kitchen window, and sure enough, there he was....sitting on the edge of the roof of the house next door. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NBUtraL5GbQ/UKbyQpFB-QI/AAAAAAAABGE/lF-2o5gnizA/s1600/IMG_1529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NBUtraL5GbQ/UKbyQpFB-QI/AAAAAAAABGE/lF-2o5gnizA/s640/IMG_1529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Doesn't he/she almost look fake? Oh my goodness, I was in heaven....I had never seen an owl before, specially that close to me. I grabbed my camera and started taking photos.....he stayed here all day, then as it got later towards the evening, we noticed he was much closer to us, he was sitting on the wall that separates the house next door with ours.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6Xn5qV1z7dk/UKb0X07QZwI/AAAAAAAABGQ/4G7uZPQIzSE/s1600/IMG_1542.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6Xn5qV1z7dk/UKb0X07QZwI/AAAAAAAABGQ/4G7uZPQIzSE/s640/IMG_1542.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and as it got darker, he got closer to our house.....just so you know, I really wasn't that close to him/her, I have one of those lenses that makes things appear closer in pictures than you really where when taking it, LOL! Now, isn't he/she cute? Okay, maybe not as cute as one of those stamped images of an owl...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G3gwJQPZlTY/UKb0lSUOFKI/AAAAAAAABGY/hwjQNcykTh8/s1600/IMG_1555.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="632" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G3gwJQPZlTY/UKb0lSUOFKI/AAAAAAAABGY/hwjQNcykTh8/s640/IMG_1555.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Keep in mind, it was dark when I was taking these photos, all I could see was his silhouette....so after I took this photo and saw what came up on the screen, I was a little spooked. Had no idea "he or she" was looking at me, LOL! He truly made my day. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kovhtTdtPxY/UKb0nMxqGlI/AAAAAAAABGg/VrtCoPjiVZU/s1600/IMG_1560.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kovhtTdtPxY/UKb0nMxqGlI/AAAAAAAABGg/VrtCoPjiVZU/s640/IMG_1560.jpg" width="555" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
He or She put a smile on my face all day along, every time I kept looking out my window and saw him sitting there. This truly was a very nice treat!! All I kept thinking about all day is, if he/she only knew how much I loved owls, it's not like we live out in the middle of nowhere......</div>

I feel like I just skipped over Fall and went straight to Christmas.....although I'm hoping on gettting a couple of Fall cards made, I thought it would be a good idea to get started on some Holiday cards....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One of my Youtube subscriber brought to my attention that I should update my blog and list what materials I used to create this card that I posted a video of on my Youtube channel <i><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">(see video below)</span></i>....Thanks Barbara, I really appreciate you doing that. I really needed someone to call me out on that, so that I may get my bootie in gear and get this blog current.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started off by stamping this adorable image by Crafters Companion from the Mulberry Wood collection, called <a href="http://www.crafterscompanion.com/Mulberry-Wood-EZMount-Stamp-Set--Christmas-Wishes_p_1362.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">Christmas Wishes</span></a><span style="color: blue;"> </span>using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, then coloring it with copic markers. I used my Zig 2-way glue and spread it all over the bottom portion of the stamp, then covered the area with <a href="http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=102023" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">Stampin' Up - Dazzling Diamonds</span></a> <i>(my favorite glitter to use for snow). </i>I also applied a little bit of <span style="color: blue;"><a href="http://www.uchida.com/p-64-liquid-applique.aspx" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">Liquid Applique by Marvy Urchida</span></a> </span>on the branch and the white spots <i>(this product you have to apply to the area desired, then add heat with your heat gun, in order for it to create the puffy look of snow). </i>The sentiment I used came from the stamp set.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/vt36DApmNUU?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
For my card base, I used <span style="color: blue;"><a href="https://www.papertreyink.com/kraft-cardstock/" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">Kraft cardstock by Papertrey ink</span></a>,</span> and layered all my pattern paper with<a href="https://www.papertreyink.com/paper/perfect-match-pure-poppy-cardstock-12-sheets/" target="_blank"> <span style="color: blue;">Pure Poppy, also from Papertrey ink</span></a>. The stripped paper as well as the blue with white snowflakes pattern paper is from a 6"x 6" paper pad by <a href="http://www.yourscrapbooksupply.com/servlet/the-20112/My-Mind%27s-Eye-Winter/Detail" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">My Minds Eye - Winter Wonderland.</span> </a>The green polka-dot paper is from 6"x 6" paper pad by <a href="http://store.scrapbook.com/ac-751323.html?date=20121031" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">Pebbles called Seen & Noted</span>.</a> I used the Spellbinder Nestabilities Circles Large and the Petite Scalloped circles large to cut out both the small and large circle as well as the red layered scallop circles. For my scalloped border, I used the Stampin' Up scalloped punch and to finish it off, the snowflakes were cut using the <span style="color: blue;"><a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=let+it+snowflake&product_id=867" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">My Favorite Things - Let it Snowflake die-namic set</span></a>, </span>with glitter paper. <span style="color: blue;"> </span>I stacked the smallest of the snowflake to the medium size snowflake using a small pop-dot, then applied red rhinestone to the middle of the snowflake.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

I really, really want to be more responsible with my blog posts and would LOVE to post something every other day.....for some reason, I can't seem to do it! I am going to make that a point to stay current and I might add a little here and there from time to time about something random that I want to share thay may not be crafty related, maybe that will fill in the gap for the days I don't have anything crafty to share.....now, I'm not saying that I'm going to be posting daily, don't get me wrong, baby steps....<br />
<br />
I recently started to update <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/sil2289/featured" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">my Youtube channel (sil2289)</span> </a>with more haul videos, card making videos and hopefully branch out to something other than just cards....I'll work on that.....<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Hi Everyone! I hope you all are having a relaxing and great weekend, hoping you'll have a very Happy Mother's Day!</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Today I'm sharing with you the Mother's Day card that I made for my Mom this year. I introduced her to My Favorite Things Pure Innocence stamps and she was in love! She immediately said to me, "Please make my mother's day card using one of these stamps"....so I did! I promise, I will be switching it up a little, and using other stamps, it's just right now, I've been on this MFT wagon and I can't seem to get enough of them. I've purchased so many of these stamps, it's kind of crazy! Maybe one of these days I'll share my obsession with you, until then, I'm kind of ashamed to do so, LOL!</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">For the base of my card I used Papertrey ink white card stock, my designer papers is from Authentique Delightful and My Minds Eye Miss Caroline. I colored my image using Copic markers and paper pieced her dress. The flowers were made using the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/die-namics-prima-donna-petals?filter_name=prima%20donna" target="_blank">Prima Donna flower die</a> as well as the CC Design Cutter dies - <a href="http://www.allthatscraps.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1194&products_id=16108&zenid=d1c830e47da8a144c1561d83e83545dd" target="_blank">Leafy Branch</a> and <a href="http://www.allthatscraps.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1194&products_id=16106&zenid=d1c830e47da8a144c1561d83e83545dd" target="_blank">Phlox Flower </a>. I used the <a href="http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/marthastewartcrafts/Products/Pansy_Set__-_Punch_Around_the_Page__42-60070.htm" target="_blank">Martha Stewart Pansy set Punch around the page</a>, which I have to say, I loved the way that looks with the Pink background. My sentiment was from a Stampin' Up! set called <a href="http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=115370" target="_blank">Teeny Tiny Wishes</a>. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Now, I have to say, the Purse gift card holder was not my original idea, I searched YouTube for purse gift card holders and found some inspiration, but as far as finding a video on how to make this one, at least I couldn't find one, but if anyone does, let me know...... so it was trial and error with the measurements, until I got to the size that I wanted it. I really dislike trying to figure out the measurements and fiddling with making a pattern, I'd rather just find the "how-to" instructions or a video I can follow. So if you are interested in learning how to make this, let me know and I will work on a YT video for you.</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I'm back!!! Hello everyone! I'm so sorry that I've been MIA for so long. I decided to go back to school and after being away from College for sooooo long, I felt that it would be a good idea that I dedicate myself to that. Don't get me wrong, I didn't abandon my craft room, I was just not creating as much as I would of liked to. So, I'm down to my last couple of weeks, before Summer break and I'm so happy it's almost over. It was tough, but I'm on a role now, and I'm looking forward continuing my studies. </span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I've been wanting to share the calendar I created for my desk, hoping that the year wouldn't be over by the time I finally got around to posting it. All my images as well as the sentiments are from <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/" target="_blank">My Favorite Things stamps</a>, Pure Innocence line. I paper pieced all of them except for the January image, that one I colored with copics. I also used copics to color all the skin and hair.</span></div>

I hope you all had a very nice and warm weekend....I know I did! Our weather was perfect.....we had on and off rain, clouds and blue skies, with temperatures of 65 for the high. It was time to "finally" pull out my cozy warm sweat pants and sweaters.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For this card, I used a House-Mouse stamp called <a href="http://www.house-mouse.com/stamps/HMKR1046.php">"cuddly & warm",</a> stamped it onto Copic X-press it blending card paper using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I colored the image using Copic markers and finished it off by adding Liquid Applique to each of their Santa hats along with Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamond glitter. Using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large, I cut out the image and layered onto a piece of Basic Grey paper from the Wassail collection, <em>(which by the way is what I used as my designer paper for this card)</em> that I cut out using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Lacey Circles. The snowflakes are from the <a href="http://shop.marthastewart.com/Martha-Stewart-Punch-Alpine-Snowflake/A/B002V13Z08.htm">Martha Stewart punch Alpine Snowflake</a>, which I covered with glitter and added a button to each. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp set called Holiday Sayings.</div>

<br />
I hope everyone had a very fun & safe Halloween! It was quite a busy evening for us! <br />
<br />
I'm very excited that it's finally starting to feel like Fall around here. Our weather will be cooling down dramatically this week, and I think that is what has inspired me to kick off the first of November with these cozy mice! I think the little mice with the hat and booties is just too cute. I used this House-Mouse stamp called <a href="https://www.house-mouse.com/cgi-bin/tellmemore.cgi?item=HMKR1020&&i=/images/buy3.jpg&l=/php/whatsnew.php#title">Warmth for Winter</a> and colored the image using Copics. The pattern paper is from a 6" x 6" Jillibean Soup mini pad called Dutch Mustard Soup. The sentiment came from a Hero Arts set called messages. I love the way this card turned out. The final card size is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".<br />

<br />
Every year I create some kind of treat box or make goodie bags for my niece and nephew for Halloween. Although I don't get to spend it with them, I've always made the effort to send them something. The sad part is that they are almost getting to that age in which they no longer want to dress up for Halloween, they grow up so quickly. So this is what I made for each of them along with the test tubes and other goodies.<br />
<br />
It's difficult to think of coffins as cute, I know, but let's face it, aren't these cute? I used a Martha Stewart template found <a href="http://www.marthastewart.com/265416/coffin-treat-box">here</a>. The stamps are from the Hauntingly Delightful set by There She Goes. I know, I know, I couldn't help myself, but this set has so much to offer. The designer paper is from a stash of Halloween paper that I have had that keeps growing every year, for some reason I keep thinking I need more, I really don't! I've also used the <a href="http://shop.marthastewart.com/Ek-Success-Martha-Stewart-Deep-Edger/A/B003X5M0FM.htm">Martha Stewart deep edger spider web punch,</a> cut it in half, then glued it to the sides of each of the lids. Each of the images were stamped onto Copic X-press it blending card paper using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I colored the images using Copic markers, added some shading around the images, cut them using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Circles Large and layered them onto black cardstock that I cut out using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Large Pinking Circles. I free handed the tags onto which I stamped the sentiments, that are also from the same stamp set. I purple/black ribbon is from the Celebrate it Halloween collection from Michaels, the orange/black is from The Ribbon Boutique from Hobby Lobby.<br />
<br />
With Halloween just around the corner, I think I am all done with Halloween cards. I'm ready to move onto Winter/Christmas cards. Even though it's difficult to get into that mode living here in Arizona, where our winter weather is like Spring weather. Oh well!!<br />
<br />

<br />
Aren't these cute? Not an idea of mine of course, I followed the instructions from a tutorial I found <a href="http://youtu.be/iEtwbLBmVZI">here.</a> I had purchased these <a href="http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp?CATID=cat400018&PRODID=zprd_10221604a">Marthat Stewart test tubes</a> from Joanns, but wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with them at the time, it was one of those "better get them, until I think of something" kind of purchases. <br />
<br />
The designer paper I used was from a Cloud 9 photo mat stack that I purchased at Joanns last year called Harvest Holiday. The stamp set is from one of my favorite Stampin' Up! sets called Booglie Eyes. I thought I'd bring out my Prismacolor pencils out and give my Copic markers a rest.....I forgot how easy and fun it was to color with Gamsol and colored pencils. Hope you liked them, I had so much fun creating them!<br />
<br />
Thanks so much for stopping by!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I can't seem to get enough of this cute, cute set of stamps by There She Goes called Hauntingly Delightful. My last two post have been cards that I made using this same set.....and I can't say it will be my last. I promise, this is my last week of posting Halloween cards, I'm going to start with my Christmas cards really soon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm really not one to create scenes on my cards, so I thought I'd give it a try, and this is what I came up with. To start off, I stamped three adorable ghosts onto Copic X-press it blending card paper using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, colored the pumpkins on each of the images using Copic markers, then covered the ghosts with glitter using Stampin' Up! Dazzling diamonds. I cut out each image individually as well as the speech bubbles <em>(I also used Copic markers to color in the candy corn and candy, then added glossy accents).</em> Using one of my "old" tree Sizzix die cuts, I cut out the spooky tree, to add texture to it, I ran it thru the Big Shot using the Sizzix embossing folder <a href="http://www.provocraft.com/products/detail.php?cl=cuttlebug&scl=embossing&cat=&item=37-1644">Distressed stripes</a>, then placed it onto my card with dimensionals. Using the Martha Stewart <a href="http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/marthastewartcrafts/Products/Scary_Fence_Edge_Punch_M230682W.htm">scary fence edge punch,</a> I cut out a strip then placed the scary fence in front of the tree, using dimensionals as well. The pattern paper used was from the 12 x 12 DCWV The Ghost & Ghoblins stack. The final card size is 5" x 5". </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Today I want to share another Halloween card with you using the same stamp set as in yesterdays post, <a href="https://www.thereshegoesclearstamps.com/store/hauntingly-delightful.html">Hauntingly Delightful</a> by There She Goes stamps. I used the three different sizes of the mummy's that the set has to offer and tried to space them evenly on my acrylic block. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, I stamped them onto Copic X-press it Blending card paper then colored them using Copic markers. I stamped them again onto <a href="http://inkadinkado.eksuccessbrands.com/Product/Stamping+Mask+Paper.aspx">Inkadinkado stamping mask paper</a> and cut them out individually so that I can mask each image to add the purple shading around them using a dauber and Memento Ink in Grape Jelly. I then proceeded to stamp another set of mummys, but only cut out the head out of each of the stamped images so that I may add dimension to the original stamped image <em>(hope all that made some sense....LOL!)</em></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The designer paper used for this card was from the K&Company Kelly Panacci 12 x 12 Halloween paper pad I purchased from Michaels. I also used the<a href="http://shop.marthastewart.com/Ek-Success-Martha-Stewart-Crafts-Spiderweb/A/B003X5F6R6.htm"> Martha Stewart Spiderweb edge punch</a> to add a border to the top and bottom of my image. The sentiment is from a <a href="http://shop.heroarts.com/products/productdetail/Halloween+Messages/part_number=CG368/1571.0.1.1.62762.80663.0.0.0?pp=12&">Hero Arts Clings</a> set called Halloween messages. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Wow! It's been a while since I've posted on my blog....I sincerely apologize for being absent so long, it was quite the Summer for me, and I'm just glad it's finally over! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's finally that time of the year, my favorite time of the year.....when Halloween is approaching us. I can't say it's officially Fall here in Arizona, because it still feels like Summer. We are in the middle of October with temperatures between 95 - 100 degrees. Although I will admit, the weather is quite nice, compared to what it had been, I'm not complaining. Now on to the card..... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the image, I used a stamp from the <a href="https://www.thereshegoesclearstamps.com/store/hauntingly-delightful.html">Hauntingly Delightful</a> set by There She Goes stamps. I colored it lightly using Copic markers. The designer paper is from My Minds Eye called Boo to you, it's an old collection. The sentiment is also from the same set of stamps Hauntingly Delightful. I stitched around the edge of my first layer of designer paper using the sewing machine. I also incorporated the Martha Stewart edge punch <a href="http://shop.marthastewart.com/Martha-Stewart-Edger-Wing-Punch-Drippy/A/B002J2BL8M.htm">Drippy Goo</a> to the black layer. I cut out my image using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Standard Circles Large and layered onto black cardstock that I cut out using Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Classic Inverted Scalloped Circles.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I want to thank all of my followers for continuing to follow my blog, I will make an effort to post more often. Thank you all for your support! Blog Candy coming soon!!</div>

We don't live near, well we do, but not near enough to swing by and give her a big Birthday hug. She lives in Southern California, and I live in Arizona, so I had to wait until today to post the Birthday card, in order to make sure that she got it first.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Unfortunately, I have to say I'm guilty of dragging my mother into this hobby of mine. She started off small, and now half of her bedroom has been claimed by this addiction of paper crafting. It's really fun to share this hobby with someone close to you whom shares the same passion and excitement for paper and card making tools. So I knew gift cards to Michaels and Joanns would be the perfect gift, and we all know after long hours of shopping, we can sure work up an appetite, that is where the other gift card will come in handy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I got the instructions to create this card from <a href="http://pinkbuckaroodesigns.blogspot.com/search/label/Gifts?updated-max=2010-08-01T09%3A46%3A00-05%3A00&max-results=20">Pink Buckaroo Designs,</a> Erica created this very easy tutorial of what she called Gift Pocket wallet. She has posted on her blog two examples of how you can use this, and I automatically thought the gift card one would come in handy. The stamped image I used is from <a href="http://thecatspajamasrs.com/BirthdayBunny.htm">The Cats Pajamas,</a> isn't it adorable? The inspiration came from their gallery, however, for my balloons, I used a Hero Arts clear stamp set called <a href="http://shop.heroarts.com/products/productdetail/part_number=CL382/1571.0.1.1">Wonderful Birthday,</a> stamped each balloon onto a different type of patterned paper and cut the image out. I colored the image using Copic markers, I then used an atyouspica in clear to add some sparkle to the stars and the gifts <em>(I did this after I took the picture, sorry!) </em>The pattern paper I used was from the 12 x 12 K & Co Wild Raspberry paper stack. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the clouds, I cut them using a <a href="http://www.papertreyink.com/acc_pti_dies_diestomatch.html">Papertrey ink cloud die,</a> I then added Stampin' Up glitter in dazzling diamonds. The balloons are attached to Cotton candy pink baker's twine. The textured card stock used for the card base and scalloped envelopes is from Stampin' Up in Pink Piroutte. And last but not least, the button brads are from Making Memories.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I also wanted to comment that the reason I haven't been blogging much is because I've been keeping myself busy making invitations for a Sweet Sixteen birthday party. A friend of my Mom's asked if I could make 60 invitations for her daughters birthday party and I quickly jumped at the opportunity. Although, I had no idea what I had gotten myself into, until shortly after I started cutting into the paper and seizing everything up. Here's a little glimpse of what my assembly line looked like during the process. I'm about 90% done, and I couldn't be happier!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hi Everyone! For today's card, I have created an Easel card that measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/2". I used an adorable stamp from <a href="http://www.inkyantics.com/cgi-bin/stamps.cgi">Inky Antics called Carrot Bunny clear Set</a>. I purchased this from my local scrapbooking store <a href="http://www.cropgirls.com/">Crop Girls</a>, they have a great selection of stamps. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I stamped my image onto Copic X-press it blending card using Memento Ink in Tuxedo black, I then colored the image with Copic markers <em><span style="font-size: x-small;">(which because of the lighting you can't really appreciate the bunny's greyish shading and pink tones on it's nose and ears).</span></em> I stitched all my layers using my sewing machine. The pattern paper is from Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety. For the cardbase I used Papertrey Ink - Kraft cardstock, and for the layers under the pattern paper, I used Stampin' Up Old Olive. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I sprayed Tattered Angels - Tiger Lilly onto some white Prima flowers and added a button from my stash. For the outside and inside sentiment, I used stamps from the same collection, the inside sentiment I cut out using the Spellbinder Nestabilies Curved Rectangles, in the smallest size. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

I have to say I am totally speechless by the gesture and her thoughtfulness. Leslie, I am so touched by the beautiful card you have sent me, it put me to "happy" tears, as the first thought that came to mind was my baby girl. This has to be the cutest image I've seen....I absolutely LOVE IT!! I love your card Leslie!!! Not to mention the beautiful frame you have created, it's stunning and I have the perfect photo of my husband and I that will look great in it. The set of stamps is from Elsie, it's adorable! I have not seen it before and I just love that fire hydrant, the cute little bone and the tiny paw prints.....LOVE it!! This will come in really handy on a mini I'm working on (have been working on for the past 8 months...shameful, I know!) Leslie also sent me quite a few images that I know I will enjoy coloring. Thank you so much for the lovely papers, the buttons, the beautiful lace and trim....but most of all for that beautiful card that I will treasure. You are a sweetheart Leslie!</div><br />

I know I say this about all my stamps, but I really love them all or else I wouldn't buy them, but this stamps is just soooo cute! It's my first Whipper Snapper stamp and definitely not my last. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started by stamping my image onto Copic X-press it blending card paper using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, I then colored my image using Copic markers. Using my Spellbinder Nestabilities Curved Rectangles, I cut out the image as well as the bottom layer in Pure Poppy cardstock from Papertrey Ink. The pattern paper I used was from an old Basic Grey Collection called Cupcake. The sentiment used was from a Hero Arts clear stamp set called Big Hugs. I added glossy accents to the balloon, which by the way, I think I added too much, but that's okay, it still looks good. I'm definitely going to be using this stamp again with different card layouts, so expect to see it again!</div>

It's sure starting to feel like Spring here in Arizona, the weather has been really nice. Although I strongly believe that we really only have two seasons here, it's either Spring or Summer. Either way, I love it here!</div>

In todays card I am using a <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-15732/Penny-Black-Rubber-Stamp/Detail">Penny Black stamp called "Hedgehog Bouquet"</a>. It makes me think of Spring! I've been really into Penny Black stamps, so you will be noticing a lot of cards with several different Penny Black images to come, hope you like them. The pattern paper is from My Minds Eye called Home, I purchased this 6" x 6" stack at Michaels last year and I'm just now getting around to using it, can you believe that? I used the Spellbinder Nestabilities Standard circles large to cut my image out, then for my layer, I used the Nestabilities Big Scalloped Circles large....I love the way it turned out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've actually been creating most of my cards without sentiments, I feel I often need a card and I've already added a sentiment and can't use it, so, I have decided that on the cards that can be used for more than one occasion I am leaving without sentiment until I have a use for it.</div>
