Friend Fur-ever

Creating this card was a bit challenging for me, as you know from my past posts, I don't do clean and simple cards.  I find myself feeling like I'm missing so much because I finish so quickly, and then I start to look at it more and more and think it's missing so much.  But it's not, it's perfectly okay, yet because there are no layers and so few embellishments, I feel as if it's so plain.  So, yes, it took a lot from me not to add a layer or two of pattern paper, LOL!  I also really wanted to start making some use of my background stamps, I don't ever use them.....so this was a good start.

On to this card......For the base, I used Papertrey Ink card stock in Vintage Cream. The card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (top fold).  The doggie die cut is from an adorable Stamp and Die set from My Creative Time called Loyal Friends.  Me being a dog lover, I had to have this!  I cut one of the dogs using Papertrey Ink card stock in Fine Linen and the other using True Black, (I have to add a small note:  I did not want both of the dog tails to be pointing the same direction, so for the black dog, I cut the tail and reversed, so that it is pointing in the other direction, cute ha?), the collar for the black dog was cut using Papertrey Ink paper in Hawaiin Shores and the other collar was in Pure Poppy.  For the silver hearts, I used the specialty paper that I purchased from my local Michael's.  Using the Hero Arts Ink Pad in Wet Cement I stamped the Hero Arts Background stamp Envelope Pattern onto the Vintage Cream card base, I then began to assemble my pieces.  I stamped the sentiment from a stamp set called Puppy Pals by My Cute Stamps (I'm sorry, but this company is no longer in business, so I am unable to provide a link for this one), however, it was the perfect sentiment for this card.  I cut the Fishtail banner using the smallest die from My Favorite Things Die-namics Fishtail Flags.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for sticking by me.  I hope you will enjoy my future posts and continue to visit me.....

Supplies/Materials Used:  Papertrey Ink cardstock (Pure Poppy, Hawaiin Shores, Vintage Cream, Fine Linen), My Creative Time Stamp/Die Set - Loyal Friends, My Cute Stamps stamp set - Puppy Pals, Hero Arts Ink Pad - Wet Cement, Memento Ink Pad - Tuxedo Black, Hero Arts Stamp - Envelope Pattern, 12" x 12" Silver Specialty Paper from Micheals Arts & Crafts, Memory Box Die - Cherished Border (for the small hearts)

It's been so, so long.....I'm back!

Just wanted to quickly say "Hello" and thank you for sticking with me during my long absence.  I really dislike having such long gaps in between posts, and I hope that I can improve that.  It feels so good to be able to finally post on my blog, I can't believe it's been over a year since my last post.

I'm trying to figure out a schedule for me to be able to post at least twice a week on my blog and maybe the same for my YouTube Channel.  Discipline! That is what I need....LOL!  Okay, well see how this pans out.....

Again, thank you so much for your continued support!

Sending Bunches of Love

If dimension is what I was going for on this card, I definitely accomplished that! LOL!  I started off with stamping the bunny onto a piece of grey paper from the Love Note 6" x 6" paper pad by Fancy Pants, then fussy cutting him out.  I used copic marker C0 to somewhat give it a little bit of a shading in the areas I thought it needed it.  I went on to stamp only the section with the hearts three more times onto a piece of pink paper from the Authentic 6" x 6" paper pad collection - Delight.  Using copic marker R81 I added a little bit of shading to the hearts (again, where I thought it needed it, although I knew I was going to be adding glitter to them, I still wanted to do that), then using Zig 2-way glue pen (the one with the chisel tip), I applied glue to all of the hearts and sprinkled my FAVORITE colored glue, did I say FAVORITE already?...yes, my favorite glitter from The Art Institute Glitter, it's called Art Glitter in Transparent Ultra Fine 6gr.  The color I used was Miss Muffet #144.

I cut out one batch of hearts, then I cut out the second one, however, this time, only cutting out the 3 larger of the hearts, then I cut out only the large heart in the middle.  Using Stampin' Up dimensionals along with Glossy Accents (as my favorite glue), I added a little bit of glossy accents to the dimensional, since I knew just the adhesive on the dimensional was not going to be enough, since the glitter was going to make it difficult adhere, using glossy accents definitely helped.  I did the same thing for the rest of the random hearts I used all over the card.

Using the My Creative Time - Stitched Scallop Heart Die Set, I cut out the outside heart and the inside heart.  I adhered the larger of the hearts with the scallops using Stampin' Up dimensionals and glued the middle heart to the card.  I stamped the sentiment onto Papertrey Ink - white card stock and cut it out using My Favorite Things - Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die, I ran it once thru my Cuttlebug and then turned the fish tail end around and cut out the other side, so both sides have the fishtail ends.

Here's my YouTube video that shows how I put the entire card together:

I guana love you forever

Here's a stamp set that I've was really anxious to use this year.....I've had it since last February, just never got the opportunity to use it, before I knew it, Valentine's Day was done and over with.  The stamp se is called "Iguana Love" by Stampendous (I placed a link to Amazon.com, since I was unable to locate it on the Stampendous website)

I stamped my image onto X-press it blending card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it using Copics then fuzzy cut it.  I stamped the sentiment onto a heart that I cut using a die cut from Lil' Inkers Designs.  I used a lot of hearts on this card, then again, it's meant to be a Valentine's Day Card!

Here's my YouTube video showing you how I made this card:

Birthday Card Entry

INSIDE OF CARD

This is a card I created as an entry to a "subbie giveaway" for Maddie, her YouTube channel is mkturner214.  Maddie is celebrating 100+ subscribers!

Here is the video response I created:

The adorable image you see of all those puppies, is from Whipper Snapper Designs.  I have been wanting to use this stamp for some time now, and this was the perfect opportunity!  I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo black ink onto X-press it blending card paper, then colored it using Copics.  I cut around my image and placed it onto the card using dimensionals.  The designer paper I used is from Basic Grey Shine On Collection (both 6"x 6" and 12" x 12") paper pads.  I used several die cuts from several different companies.  The sun was cut using a die cut from Lil' Inkers Designs, the picket fence is a die from My Favorite Things, the grass die is from Taylored Expressions and last but not least, the small hills are cut using a Papertrey Ink die - In the Meadow.

The larger of the speech bubbles were cut out of the 12" x 12" Basic Grey Shine On paper pad, and the small red square speech bubble was cut from the 6" x 6" Basic Grey paper pad.  The sentiments I used came from several stamp sets.  I added dimensionals to a few of the speech bubbles, so that they would stand out.

For the inside of the card, I used the Sizzix Pop 'n Cuts Base and Insert (card, Horizontal A2 w/circle label 3D) (Pop-up).  The posts were using the Sizzix Sizzlets Flagpole w/Lantern & sign die (decorative strip), and for the banners I used Papertrey Ink - Banner builder die collection.  The stamped image I used is from Whimsy Stamps - Cupcake Bliss, which I also stamped on X-press it blending card using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, then colored with Copics.  I added some of my favorite colored glitter, Art Glitter in Aquamarine from the Art Institute Glitter.  The image was attached to the pop-up using an action wobble, which I have to admit, is my first time using one of these, and I love the effect!  The sentiment inside is from a Hero Art Stamp set called Card Messages that was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black and matted using a piece Pure Poppy cardstock from Papertrey Ink that I die cut using Spellbinder Nestabilities - Long scalloped rectangles large.

I had a lot of fun creating this card, and I really hope Maddie likes it!

Thank you for stopping by!

We Wish you a Merry Christmas

Well, here we are at the second week of December, and it doesn't seem to feel like Christmas season yet, at least not for us here in Arizona.  Our weather is still in the 70's as of today, however, come this week, we are finally going to hit 60's.  I think this explains why it is so difficult to get into Christmas card making when it's sunny and hot outside....I'm trying!

For today's card, I used this really cute stamp I purchased at my local scrapbooking store, it's by Whipper Snapper Designs - Maddie.  I stamped it on X-press it paper by Copic using Memento Ink-Tuxedo Black, then colored it using Copics.  I used the same coloring scheme as on the front of the stamp, since initially the cute image along with the colors was why I purchased the stamp.  I used Bazzill paper for my base (which I rarely use, since to me, it feels very flimsy, I normally use Papertrey ink for my card base), since I didn't have this color of card stock from Papertrey Ink.  The pattern paper I used is from a 6" x 6" My Minds Eye Merry Paper pad I purchased from Michaels.

I used Let it snowflake die-namics from My Favorite Things and layered one on top of the other using a dimensional, then added a pink embellishment that I purchased from Hobby Lobby (Crystal Stickers 5mm LT. Pink).  The sentiment I used is from SP and Company Bold Holiday Sentiments, which by the way, I have to mention how much I love these stamps, not only because they are high quality photopolymer stamps, but also because of the variety of sentiments that you get in one set, not to mention the two different fonts used.

This was a quick card to assemble, I think the thing that took me the longest was the coloring, which by the way I enjoy very much!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

I thought I'd try out a different card size then the usual, or more like, than what I am comfortable doing, which is either an A2 size or a 5" x 5".  This card measures 7 1/4" x 6 1/2.  I really wanted to use the MFT Die-namics Peek-a-boo trio, so in order to do that, the card size had to be tweaked just a bit.....

For a detail description of how I made this card, you may watch the video below:

Merry Kissmas

For today's card, I am using a stamp image from My Favorite Things called "Merry Kissmas".    I colored the image using copic markers, then added Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds glitter by applying Zig 2- way glue to the desired areas where I wanted glitter.  I also added shading to the background of my image using BG000.

I matted my image using Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey circles with Bazzil paper in Rose.  The pattern paper I used was from My Minds Eye - Merry 6" x 6" paper pad.  I also did some stitching....
The sentiment came from the same MFT stamp set, I stamped it on a Teeny Tag using Bazzil paper in  Rose, that I cut out using the tag die from My Creative Time set called Teeny Tag Greetings with Teeny Tag Dies.  Then wrapped up a bow using a roll of organza ribbon by The Ribbon Boutique that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.

Now to something non-crafty related.......

Okay, now I'm not sure if you all know how much I love owls.....yesterday, I got a visit from a real live owl.  My husband woke me up early in the morning and said, "you have to come see this, there's an owl outside"....now I was half asleep, I thought he was messing with me, because he knows how much I love em', but he wasn't....I peeked out of our kitchen window, and sure enough, there he was....sitting on the edge of the roof of the house next door.

Doesn't he/she almost look fake?  Oh my goodness, I was in heaven....I had never seen an owl before, specially that close to me.  I grabbed my camera and started taking photos.....he stayed here all day, then as it got later towards the evening, we noticed he was much closer to us, he was sitting on the wall that separates the house next door with ours.....

and as it got darker, he got closer to our house.....just so you know, I really wasn't that close to him/her, I have one of those lenses that makes things appear closer in pictures than you really where when taking it, LOL!  Now, isn't he/she cute?  Okay, maybe not as cute as one of those stamped images of an owl...

Keep in mind, it was dark when I was taking these photos, all I could see was his silhouette....so after I took this photo and saw what came up on the screen, I was a little spooked.  Had no idea "he or she" was looking at me, LOL! He truly made my day.

He or She put a smile on my face all day along, every time I kept looking out my window and saw him sitting there.  This truly was a very nice treat!!  All I kept thinking about all day is, if he/she only knew how much I loved owls,  it's not like we live out in the middle of nowhere......

Thank you for stopping by!

Christmas Wishes

INSIDE

I feel like I just skipped over Fall and went straight to Christmas.....although I'm hoping on gettting a couple of Fall cards made, I thought it would be a good idea to get started on some Holiday cards....

One of my Youtube subscriber brought to my attention that I should update my blog and list what materials I used to create this card that I posted a video of on my Youtube channel (see video below)....Thanks Barbara, I really appreciate you doing that.   I really needed someone to call me out on that, so that I may get my bootie in gear and get this blog current.....

I started off by stamping this adorable image by Crafters Companion from the Mulberry Wood collection, called Christmas Wishes using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, then coloring it with copic markers.  I used my Zig 2-way glue and spread it all over the bottom portion of the stamp, then covered the area with Stampin' Up - Dazzling Diamonds (my favorite glitter to use for snow).  I also applied a little bit of Liquid Applique by Marvy Urchida on the branch and the white spots (this product you have to apply to the area desired, then add heat with your heat gun, in order for it to create the puffy look of snow).  The sentiment I used came from the stamp set.

For my card base, I used Kraft cardstock by Papertrey ink, and layered all my pattern paper with Pure Poppy, also from Papertrey ink.  The stripped paper as well as the blue with white snowflakes pattern paper is from a 6"x 6" paper pad by My Minds Eye - Winter Wonderland. The green polka-dot paper is from 6"x 6" paper pad by Pebbles called Seen & Noted.  I used the Spellbinder Nestabilities Circles Large and the Petite Scalloped circles large to cut out both the small and large circle as well as the red layered scallop circles.  For my scalloped border, I used the Stampin' Up scalloped punch and to finish it off, the snowflakes were cut using the My Favorite Things - Let it Snowflake die-namic set, with glitter paper.  I stacked the smallest of the snowflake to the medium size snowflake using a small pop-dot, then applied red rhinestone to the middle of the snowflake.

I hope you liked this card.....and thanks for stopping by!

Hello my fellow followers....I realize it's been such a loooong time since my last post, and I apologize for that!  I really, really want to be more responsible with my blog posts and would LOVE to post something every other day.....for some reason, I can't seem to do it!  I am going to make that a point to stay current and I might add a little here and there from time to time about something random that I want to share thay may not be crafty related, maybe that will fill in the gap for the days I don't have anything crafty to share.....now, I'm not saying that I'm going to be posting daily, don't get me wrong, baby steps....

I recently started to update my Youtube channel (sil2289) with more haul videos, card making videos and hopefully branch out to something other than just cards....I'll work on that.....
